Bodhi's Kitchen

I love this quote:

I truly believe that what we put into our bodies can save us from a world of pain and not just 'later in life' but right now.

The good news, is that we are always in the now. Whether our minds are or not, our bodies are in the now and there is never a better time to start living for a healthier version of yourself than now. No "I'll start next Monday," or "I'll start when I start my new job next month," or the infamous "after the holidays." You can start anytime, any day and any time of the day.

OK, that's my rant of the day.

The biggest life saver for me, is having whole nutritious foods in my home at all times.  I typically grocery shop on Sundays and may go back in for fresh meat/fish throughout the week.

A well stocked kitchen keeps me on track and feeling well throughout the week.

What's in there?

Hmm... well, this won't be exaustive but here's a run down (some items you can't see but are in the drawers ;)):

  • Raisins
  • Macadamia nuts
  • Hazelnuts
  • Fish
  • Chicken breast (hormone/nitrate free)
  • Yellow summer squash
  • Zucchini
  • Cucumber
  • Fresh Herbs (usually I buy dill, mint, basil, rosemary...)
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Cage-free organic eggs
  • Kale
  • Nut flours
  • Flaxseed
  • Spinach
  • Green Onion
  • Carrots
  • Kelp Noodles
  • Grain-free Cherry Zucchini bread

What's in the bowl and on the counter?
  • Local raw honey
  • Apples
  • Peaches
  • Plums
  • Bananas
  • Kiwi
  • Avocado
  • Behind the bowl... Macadamia oil, olive oil, truffle oil, balsamic, sea salt and pepper

And on the shelf:
  • Sunbutter
  • Tahini
  • Hazelnut butter
  • Almond Butter
  • Peanut butter (I know, I know... not necessarily primal)

What's up there?
  • Grapefruit
  • Apples
  • Peaches
  • Avocado
  • Tomato
  • Eggplant
  • Bananas

While it will look a bit different week-to-week, this is generally what my kitchen is looking like.  I do like to experiment with produce so I will typically have a new item each week.
