Bodhi Life's 2015 Top 15 Stocking Stuffers

What will be filling your family and friends stockings with this holiday season? With just a few days before Christmas, we are nearly running out of time! Where has the year gone? I meant to get this list out about ... oh... a month ago... Bookmark for 2016? ;)

I came up with the list the same way I came up with my list from 2012 - that is, everything on the list are products that I use and love (with the exception of one - noted below). My thought is that if I use it and love it, chances are that others will enjoy it as well!

Bodhi Life's 2015 Top 15 Stocking Stuffers

Perfect for the on-the-go health nut. These little packets of greens are in powder form, are completely natural and contain no artificial sweeteners, chemicals or additives. This is the best green powder that I have seen on the market.

I like to add mine to cold water mixed with my probiotic. These are especially handy while traveling. Just mix in a bottle of water in the morning to help get your day started smoothly.

"MORINGA, spirulina, wild blueberries from Alaska? It can be exhausting, not to mention costly, trying to get high quality superfoods that your body needs daily. We make it easy and simple to get what you need (and more), all in one convenient pouch."

Cost: These packets come in a box of 15 for $45.00 or 30 for $75.00. I know, I know, I am waiting for the price to come down too...but they are worth it. Find online at or Amazon.

Another one for the health-nut. As you can see from their name, these cookies are all raw, contain all organic ingredients and sprouted sesame seeds. These little cookies are perfect to bring with you out on the slopes or slip into your pack for a snack while snowshoeing

There are several flavors available. I love the Ginger Snaps.

Cost: $5.49/bag, found online at Go Raw, Whole Foods  or other health food stores.

3).  ChlorOxygen Chlorophyll Concentrate

Alright, this one is for your uber health-nut loved one. In all actuality though, it is perfect for everyone. It supports red blood cell production and increases oxygenation in the body. Going to go a little overboard on the coffee? Chlorophyll is a the perfect alkalizing formula for after a cup of joe. Not to mention after a few too many cocktails Christmas Eve... This is also great for anyone that will be traveling to higher altitudes for the holiday.

Chlorophyll is a green pigment that’s instrumental in photosynthesis. I usually describe it as 'like drinking the inside of a plant." LOL - it's the green goodness :) Mix this in with your water or any other beverage to stay alkaline and hydrated!
Here is a bit more on the powers of Chlorophyll.

Cost: $19.97/bottle (although it's way cheaper at Whole Foods so...) found online, Whole Foods or other health food stores. Be sure to get the alcohol free formula.

Honey, let's talk about honey. Actually, let's talk about Raw Honey. While raw honey may seem like just a ploy, it really is like eating an apple vs. an apple syrup that is void of nutrients. Meaning, if you are buying pasteurized honey where all of the enzymes are destroyed, you might as well just eat a tablespoon of white sugar.

Raw honey is simply amazing. Along with coconut oil, it may be my favorite superfood.

"Raw honey is an alkaline-forming food that contains natural vitamins, enzymes, powerful antioxidants and other important natural nutrients. These are the very nutrients that are destroyed during the heating and pasteurization process. In fact, pasteurized honey is equivalent to and just as unhealthy as eating refined sugar.

Raw honey has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. It promotes body and digestive health, is a powerful antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, eliminates allergies, and is an excellent remedy for skin wounds and all types of infections. Raw honey's benefits don't stop there. Raw honey can also stabilize blood pressure, balance sugar levels, relieve pain, calm nerves, and it has been used to treat ulcers. Raw honey is also an expectorant and anti-inflammatory and has been known to effectively treat respiratory conditions such as bronchitis and asthma."

Here is a bit more info on raw honey.

Cost: It really is best to get your raw honey locally to benefit fully from all of the wonderful properties so it will vary. Typically a jar of raw honey will cost anywehre from $10-18.00. The one that I have featured here is local to my area and is $8.99 for a small jar.

For the one that loves all things herbal. I recently came across these teas when I decided to cut back on my coffee consumption as it is naturally caffeine free. Teecino has all sorts of amazing (organic) ingredients like carob, chicory, dandelion root and roman. It comes in tea bags or loose 'grounds' like coffee.
  • Antioxidants from carob, dandelion roots, almonds, dates, fig
  • Naturally caffeine free – no processing or chemical residue
  • Non-acidic – helps restore alkaline balance
  • Natural energy boost – from nutrients, not stimulants
  • Contains heart-healthy potassium
  • Prebiotic - inulin from chicory root and dandelion root supports beneficial microflora that improve digestion, regularity and intestinal health
  • 100% Gluten free and barley free
AND, Teecino tastes awesome. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my coffee and although I have TRIED to a be a tea person, I've come to accept that I am indeed a coffee drinker - BUT I will say that this tea is nice to have especially in the evenings when I want some coffee but could do without the caffeine and acidity.

Cost: $5.99/box or $10.62/bag online at Teecino, Whole Foods or other health food stores.

Because who doesn't like ginger? These guys are perfect for the one traveling over the holidays. On road trips, I may or may not have one every hour... on the hour. No, I am not OCD! Ok, maybe a little. But serisoulsy. I love these ginger chews - they will be sure to wake you and your taste buds up ;)

'America's #1 selling ginger candy and winner of Fiery Food Association's Scovie Award for "Best Candy," our Gin Gins® Original Chewy Ginger Candy are natural, stimulating and delicious. Given ginger's queasy-quelling properties, Gin Gins® are great to fight off nausea while flying boating or going on a bumpy road trip. Surprisingly and satisfyingly spicy. The only candy that bites you back!'

Cost: $16.99/bag found at online at Abes Market, Whole Foods or other health food stores.

7).  Tarte Amazon Clay Mascarra (Black)

For your closet hippie. I love Tarte cosmetics. They are the best all natural brand of cosmetics that I have discovered AND they are gluten-free (yes, some people that are sensitive to gluten will react to the ingredient if it's used topically).

This mascara is super smooth, virtually weightless and easy to remove.

'The Amazonian clay makes this the first and only “smart” mascara that intuitively finds and treats your unique lash concerns, delivering the benefits you need and volume you desire. The Amazonian clay instinctively lengthens, conditions, repairs and replenishes dry and brittle lashes. This mascara works overtime to keep lashes intact, healthier, and stronger by preventing lash loss and promoting lash health.'

Cost: $10.00/tube found online at Tarte, Ulta or other speciality cosmetic stores.

8). Tarte Airblush Maracuja Blush (Shimmering Pink)

I read in a magazine sometime last year that liquid blush was the way to go. After years of using
powered blush I was a bit skeptical but finally decided to give it a try. I'll tell you right now, I am never going back to powdered blush! I don't feel the blush on my face and it stays fresh looking all day long. I also put a dab on my lips for a pretty matte look.

Product Performance: The airsprun maracuja infused formula melts into skin, delivering a powerful dose of skinvigorating™ maracuja oil, and then dries down to a feather-light, long-wear flush with a subtle dewy finish.  Thanks to a unique formula, in which we aerate the blush between the layers of pigment, airblush always look sheer, natural and fresh—never heavy.
Powered By: maracuja:  rich in essential fatty acids (EFAs) known to replenish, rebuild, and brighten skin; maracuja gives the appearance of brighter skin; powerful anti-aging elixir promotes active skin recovery and rejuvenation.
Cost: $26.00 found online at Tarte, Ulta or other speciality cosmetic stores.

9.) Moroccan Oil

By now, most of us know the magic of coconut oil, but have you discovered Moroccan oil? Moroccan oil actually works to repair and restore the hair. I put this in my hair daily, focusing on the ends and it makes my hair feel so much more healthy (especially after causing some damage to it after too much processing..)

Apparently it is great for the skin as well so I will be experimenting! Here's some more info.

"Moroccanoil Treatment Light, specifically formulated for fine or light colored hair, absorbs instantly to fill gaps in hair made by heat, styling and environmental damage. Hair goes from rough and frizzy to brilliantly shiny, smooth and manageable."

Man or woman, moroccan oil is a great addition to your hair and skin routine.

Cost: $43.00/bottle found online at Moroccan Oil or most beauty salons.

10.) Nubian Indian Hemp Lotion

Talk about silky and smooth! I'm obsessed with Nubian's Indian Hemp lotion. I know, I know, such a hippie, but hemp has always worked well on my skin. In fact, one of my favorite lip balm is made from hemp seed oil and I haven't been able to find the one I use to use! hmm...

Anyway, this lotion is simply lovely and makes my skin so soft. The scent it is very subtle and

"A high content of Hemp Seed Oil creates a luxurious lotion rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Shea Butter and Neem Oil power this rich, non-greasy body lotion, which help to moisturize and condition dry skin. Soothes and comforts for smoother looking skin."

Cost: $11.99 found online at Nubian HeritageWhole Foods or other health food stores.

11). Giovanni D:Tox System Body Care

Who doesn't like to be pampered? This body care system will leave you feeling fresh, light and clean. The activated charcoal really draws out the impurities and toxins. I absolutely love it. And, each product in the line is hypoallergenic, perfect for those with sensitive skin.

  • Out with the bad: super-cleansing activated charcoal and volcanic ash lift pore-clogging toxins, oils and debris - readying them to be rinsed away
  • In with the good: Hand-harvested, antioxidant rich ACAI and goji berry infuse skin with the vitamins for smooth, beautiful, purely touch-worthy skin
  • The result is skin with noticeable clarity and the gentle scent of luscious fig and clean GREEN TEA

Cost: $4.99-$50.00 depending on which combination of products, found online at GiovanniWhole Foods or other health food stores.

12). UE Boom 360ยบ Speaker

Let's crank it up a bit! How I ever lived in my apartment without a bluetooth speaker is beyond me and the UE Boom is pure quality. If you come over, chances are I will have something streaming
through my UE Boom - it really makes a difference in whatever you are listening to. Talk about money well spent.

"Stand it up, lay it down, stash it in a cupholder, or even clip it to your backpack. UE BOOM lets you bring your music just about anywhere."

It's also perfect for traveling!

Cost: $199.00 at Ultimate Ears, Apple or other specialty electronic stores.

13.) Convertible Mittens

I adore my convertible mittens. I'm a text'er and - well, and I like the freedom to be able to use my appendages often so convertible mittens work really for me. Get my message out and be able to bundle back up quickly. Love them!

Cost: $25.00 found online at Threads for Thought, Whole Foods or other health food stores.

14). Hydro Flask Insulated Coffee, Tea, Water Bottle

OK, this is the one that I was referring to above. The exception. The exception being that I haven't
actually tried this product out and I don't own one (but I wish that I did! LOL).

My girlfriend has one of these and was telling me about it and I quickly put it in my list of future purchases. Keeping ice - ice for up to 24 hours and hot beverages hot for up to 12 hours. True story! I can't wait to try this flask. Oh AND it's environmentally friendly, BPA free and toxin free.

Cost: $25.99, found online at Hydro Flask

15). The Power of Myth

And lastly, I will leave you with one my favorite my mythology texts. Joseph Campbell brings a unique and thought- provoking point of view to topics such as spirituality, religion, society - there is so much depth and richness to his words that each page must be read several times over. Campbell's dynamic way of articulating his views is astounding.

"The Power of Myth is based on the interviews between Joseph Campbell and Bill Moyers that were the basis for the acclaimed television series. It deals with the universality and evolution of myths in the history of the human race and the place of myths in modern society. Campbell blends accounts of his own upbringing and experience with stories from many cultures and civilizations to present the reader with his most compelling thesis that modern society is going through a transition from the old mythologies and traditions to a new way of thinking where a global mythology will emerge."

Cost: Starting at $8.59, found online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble or other book stores.

Can I go have another cup of coffee now? Or maybe I should switch to some Teecino...
